BLITZ GAINS ADDED EDGE AND INSPIRATION FROM DYNAMIC ART@BLITZ PROGRAM
Artists bring additional creative inspiration to Boston agency with monthly rotational gallery
Waltham, Mass., October 5, 2011 – An avant garde approach to décor is helping inspire Blitz, the connections company. An office program called art@blitz which rotates art on a monthly basis, gives employees the opportunity to work in dynamic and creative surroundings, adding an edge to Blitz’ already innovative business and strategic practices.
“Our office is perfect for emerging and established artists to showcase their work. In addition, it makes our office environment more vibrant and inspiring, and we gain exposure to diverse ideas that spark conversation – something key to a communications organization,” says Melissa Lea, interim president. “A constant flow of outside creativity helps keep our team innovative and thinking about what they’re able to bring our clients. As added value, by giving artists a venue to showcase their work, Blitz is able to give back to the community in a unique way.”
The forward-thinking idea also complements Blitz’ stimulating office setting – the historic Waltham Watch Factory right on the Charles River. The non-traditional gallery space has plentiful wall space, painted in both bright colors and traditional white. The abundant, nearly floor-to-ceiling windows supply great natural light, and the historic building and exposed brick present a truly unique atmosphere for exhibition. Artists show for one month and are profiled around the office for clients, employees, reps and other office visitors to learn about their background.
Blitz moved to the Watch Factory in January 2011, and art@blitz began in February 2011 with photographer Margaret Lampert in the inaugural exhibit. The program accepts all mediums, and has since exhibited painter Jill Grimes, photographers Cheryl Colombo, Ryan Kenner, Ann Sutherland and Sue Kwasnick and mixed media artist Gabriel Polonsky. Upcoming shows will include painters Sol Hartman and Brandon Aguiar and photographer Chris Padgett.
